Is Pingo Doce in Funchal any good?

Discovered on our first visit to Funchal. Really good value and such great choice. Where would we get our food if Pingo Doce wasnt there? Leite, queijo, manteiga, Danacol , Oikos and bananas are essentials every time. I didnt find the staff to be all that helpful or friendly but the prices are so reasonable its hard not like this place.

Just had lunch in the Pingo Doce restaurant in Forum Madeira. Excellent it was too. Braised tuna in tomato sauce, bacalhau fish pie, rice with peas and mushrooms and lovely tender octopus cooked in onions with small potatoes with skins on. £3.00! I kid you... not.
